Contrary to many stitchers' beginnings, needlepoint is not something that was passed down through the generations in my family, but something that sparked my interest when my coworker brought me to her local needlepoint shop. Though admittedly it was not until a few years down the road that I decided to pick it up. At that point I was a new mother to a one month old and the cubicle life was on pause. I found the art to be both meditative and rewarding, two things I was very much in need of.
Much of the inspiration for my designs stems from my New England upbringing. Think classic harbor scenes, hydrangea flocked post and round rail fences, and flower boxed cedar shake cottages. I was born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts and grew up summering on the Cape. I currently reside in Boston with my husband, two children, and our cavapoo, Millie.
